Director of Music

Keith Morgan spent his early childhood in rural Denbighshire and his teenage years in Oswestry in North Shropshire. He received most of his secondary education at the Boys' High School in Oswestry and, after gaining an honours degree in History at the University of Wales and a postgraduate certificate of education, he spent twenty-eight years in the teaching profession. For most of that time he held posts as Director of Music in a number of schools, but in 1992 he moved away from music to take up an appointment as a Resident Housemaster, and subsequently, as Headmaster at the same school.

In 2002, Keith gave up full time teaching in order to devote more time to playing and conducting. He has had a lifelong interest in church music and has held organist and choirmaster posts at St. Laurence Ludlow, St Mary Ilkeston, All Saints High Wycombe and at St. Mary's, Melton Mowbray. Beyond the confines of the church, he has conducted the Bedworth Choral Society, the Kelly Orchestra and Chorus, the Dodworth Male Voice Choir and the Radcliffe Ladies Choir. Alongside his work at St. James's, Keith is currently Musical Director of the Scunthorpe Male Voice Choir.
