Deanery Community Worker Peta Hill
Peta Hill is the Deanery Community Worker. She is a lay member of the staff team and works alongside, and with, the clergy helping to extend the mission and ministry of the Parish into the local community.
The role of the Deanery Community Worker has many facets, linking with voluntary and community groups, individuals, wider voluntary organisations and statutory agencies, both locally and regionally.
One aspect of her role is to offer support to any voluntary and community groups that need help - that might be filling in a grant form, or finding a venue, or writing a constitution or it may be directing them to another organisation that can help. Sometimes this is about helping people identify the need for a project and then helping them to fulfil their vision, in order for the community to become stronger. This work is not only with Church groups, but with any organisations or individuals in the wider communitywho feel they need support.
Working with the Clergy Team and officers of the Church, we also have identified some areas of work which extend the mission and ministry of the Parish, These include lunch clubs, the community larder and conversation classes.
Some of the work with the Local Statutory Partnership includes strengthening and developing the infrastructure of this community in East Lindsey. The strategic work is not always about a project or about 'doing something', but about bringing another dimension to the table - that of Kingdom values.
Much of the community work is based at Holy Trinity Church on Eastgate. For information on the work please go here.
